A Legacy of Service and Friendship

Michael E. Moore was more than a volunteer—he was a cornerstone of Tender Love and Care Veterans Outreach and Farm. From the moment we met at the 2023 Tuskegee University College Professional Agriculture Workers Conference, where he was promoting the Farmers Click website, Michael’s passion for veterans and farming was clear. That day marked the beginning of a lasting friendship and a powerful partnership.

A Tireless Worker with a Heart of Gold

Michael didn’t just visit our farm—he became part of it. He would stay for days, lending his time, energy, and expertise to every corner of our operation. When he saw our goats needed better shelter, he didn’t hesitate. He teamed up with a carpenter friend and together they built our beloved “goat igloo”—a structure that still stands as a symbol of his care and craftsmanship.

Later, when we acquired a building for our farm classroom, Michael insisted on painting it himself to save us money. Over two weeks, traveling back and forth from Atlanta, he painted every wall and even the floor. His dedication was unmatched.

Even after sharing his cancer diagnosis, Michael continued to serve. He cleaned our old bus so thoroughly it looked freshly painted. He laughed, worked, and gave—always with humility and joy.

A Man of Family, Faith, and Fortitude

Michael spoke often of his daughters and grandchildren, sharing stories filled with pride and love. His commitment to family was as strong as his commitment to service.

Together, we attended galas and open houses at Fort Benning, including a memorable visit to the General’s house. Michael was always networking, always advocating, always finding ways to support our mission and uplift our veterans.

Forever in Our Hearts

Michael Moore taught us what it means to serve with heart. His legacy lives in every brushstroke, every shelter, every cleaned bus, and every life he touched. He will always be a part of Tender Love and Care Veterans Outreach and Farm.

Rest in peace, dear friend. Your love, labor, and legacy will never be forgotten.
